a baby shower for the Wolfpack fan

My mom's co-worker is having a baby shower this week.
When my mom asked what colors she preferred, the lady said "Anything except for light blue, my little boy will NOT be seen wearing Carolina Blue!"
If you live in Raleigh and you are not a Carolina fan, then you must be routing for N.C. State, the wolf pack.
Well, this lady is not just any fan, she is a die hard fan and that is why my mom had me put together a little wolf pack baby shower gift.

Behold, the red, white, and grey granny square baby blanket and the crochet wolf hat:

I am pleased to have at least one of my many projects completed.
I am also pleased with how it turned out.

The blanket is made with a simple granny square crochet pattern. I changed colors ever 4 rounds.
There is a slight ruffle on the outside row, but nothing too girly.

The hat is just a simple crochet beanie with some pointy wolf ears attached.

I actually have some grey yarn leftover.
I probably have enough to make 2-3 more wolf hats, depending on the sizes.
So, if there are any N.C. State wolf pack fans out there who want one of these Wolf Beanies for a small discounted price, let me know!
Even if you aren't a fan, and just like wolves...
I will only be offering this for a limited time so act fast!

Bunny Hat Preview

Will soon be adding this and a pattern to my shop:

I love the quizzical look on his face..."Why is this empty? Where's the candy?"

Azizona and unfinished projects

We are lucky enough to have most of my family living close by.
We got to spend a sunny afternoon at the park with the fam a few weekends ago.
It was a blast, can't go wrong at the park.
(And, I'm pretty sure my sis. in law had more fun on the playground than the kids!)
It's great to have at least 1 cousin around!

Here is Ande showing off his super strength...

And speaking of cousins and sunny weather...

My mom, Ande, me, and my sister (surprise!) took a trip out to Arizona to visit our cousins.
It's always good to see them.
Ande was the best little boy in the world while riding on the plane and was rewarded for it when he found this purple Barbie van at the cousin's house.

He actually became borderline obsessed with that van while we were there but I didn't care because he was having such a blast!

When our plane landed in AZ, Ande kept saying, "Azizona, yayyyy!!!" and clapping his hands.
We were all excited to be there and get off that plane!
Along with playing with the purple van, we also got to spend some great quality time with the family.
(hikes, walks, thrifting, eating, biking, playing, and of course shopping!)

Now it is back to the real world.
I am halfway done sewing a purse from a pattern in the Amy Butler book I got for Christmas.
I super excited and want it to be finished so bad just so I can look at it.
I also have an NC State crochet blanket and hat in the works for a friend of my mom's that I will hopefully finish soon and post some pictures of.
And, I actually have a finished crochet project that I CAN'T WAIT to post about.
It is a new hat for spring and all I need is a warm sunny day to take some pictures of Ande in it!

tour de block!

The weather has permitted us to venture outside for a few walks/park days. We wanted Ande to try and make it around the block on his own... he didnt, though he's not even two and he made it halfway (half a mile).

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ande already gave me a fabulous Valentine's Day present by not waking up until 8:15 this morning! And he got to wake up to his very own chapstick (hershey kiss flavor), a monkey stuffed animal, and some laffy taffy. I'd say this day is already looking good and it's not even 9 o'clock yet.

I hope your day is filled with love!

Proud Momma Moments

Today, I am a proud Momma.
There are a lot of moments in my parental-life thus far that give me pride, but here is just an couple example from today.

Ande has always had a love for books and story time.
It seems to grow stronger every day.
We always read a few stories before nap time and bed time.
He sits in my lap and he gets nice and calm before he lays down.
Lately, however, he has wanted to read his stories all-by-himself!
He plops himself down in the middle of the floor and reads through every page.
The crazy thing is that he has almost all of his books memorized and can recite each page as he flips through.
And then throughout the day, I find him like this:

(The pictures are a little blurry because he kept rocking in the chair!)

He can't seem to get enough and that just warms my soul!

It's a good thing we are welcoming another little baby boy into this house in August... then I will be a doubly proud Momma!

new blog design!

I am ridiculously excited about my new blog design!
Once again I had my friend, an amazing web designer, fix up my blog.
Her name is Mary over at Chickadee Design Studio.
This is the second time I've worked with her, and I am 100% happy with the outcome!
If you are looking for a fresh blog design, take a look at her website.
Her designs are creative and colorful and her prices are very reasonable.

I can't stop looking at my blog now, and I hope you enjoy it too!

Rainy Saturday

What a dreary day here in North Carolina!
3 days ago, we had a beautiful sunny, 60 degree day.
We spent all day playing outside at the park.
Today, it was cold and pouring the rain.
Luckily, we (well, I) had a productive day regardless of the weather.
I had a dance rehearsal and almost finished our dance for competition.
I had dinner with the fam and my best bud Courtney to celebrate her recent call to serve a Mission for our Church (lava cake included for dessert!).

Hallelujah!
I promised to have that pattern out weeks ago... Hope you don't mind the delay!

I hope ya'll enjoyed your weekend!

Crochet Hearts and Butterflies

I just listed these little beauties in my shop.

You get to pick any combination of 2 hair clips for only $3!
And, I know there are varying opinions and desires for the style of hair clip, so you get to chose that too.

The crochet heart hair clips would be a perfect Valentine's Day accessory and the butterfly clips are perfect for those with spring fever, like me!

There will be more color options to come, so keep a look out!

My "Boho Chic" Baby

I am most definitely bias, but isn't he just ridiculously cute?
This was Ande's outfit on Sunday.
He LOVES wearing Curtis' hats and put this one on himself.
The hat just completes the outfit. My little fashionisto...
I wanted him to keep it on at church...but Curtis didn't think that was appropriate. :)
